Core Approach — The Shortest Distance
SHORTEST DISTANCE. All else being equal, the quickest way from Point A to
Point B is “Shortest Distance”.
This lesson in physics applied to software means to us the
“minimum number
of steps the user is required to take to accomplish a task”. Rather, put as many of the task's steps as possible onto
the software instead of onto the user. And that can mean, especially, paying attention to the small things.
For example, take the task of selecting photos
to accompany a form.
Consider what it takes to handle photographs in normal software. How many steps would have to
be taken to recreate a photo of the right size and dimensions, then to optimize the photo, then to find and select the
place to put the photos, and then finally to select the new photo — times 100 photos?
Likely there would be more steps than you would be happy with or have time for.
Wouldn't it be easier if the software itself took on all those steps – the sizing, dimensioning,
the locating, and the optimization –
leaving you just the selecting of photos?
Why should you have to do anything
else? If you are using MultiForm, then all you have to do is to select the photo.
You don't even have to select the "next" place to put the
"next" photo. You just select, select, select.
All of MultiForm's forms are chock full of these kinds of shortest distances. Click "Next" below to look at additional advantages of using MultiForm.

This software is so darn fast it is unbelievable.”
