ReUsing Data Chunks
Many times data from files previously done can be a big timesaver
in completing the current report. And many times there is data
that is common among reports.
Perhaps the current report has similarities as one previously done. If an Appraisal Report or Broker Price Opinion, then perhaps the current report is in the same subidivision.
How do we retrieve the desired data?
Data can be fetched from a Previously Completed report. The data can be fetched in a granular fashion. The entire report does not have to be copied. That is, pieces parts of another report can be fetched and pulled into the current report, which means one can mix and match data from different reports.
The illustration below shows just the Neighborhood Data and Sales Comparison Grid Data being pulled from a previously completed Appraisal report.
To increase productivity even further, prior to the above Neighborhood And Sales Grid Section fetch, we could have fetched data from a MASTER report that we had set up previously.
A MASTER report is a report that has only the information that is largely common to a number of reports. A MASTER report could be a overall master, or it could be a more specific master, say for a particular subdivision — that becomes a basis for a future report.
Fetching of data from Master and Previously completed reports can save enormous amounts of time.
Gulping Entire Reports
Of course, if data from entire reports is needed, it is just as easy to get the entire report. This action can be accomplished with a Fetch of an entire report, or a Main Menu "F3 Copy To".
ReUsing Data Chunks
I have a question for you: Is there a way I can setup fields with data that I can reuse?” After showing her the "fetching" feature, she added, “Wow... that will save me an additional 10 hours each week.”
