Multi-User Environments
Multiple Users
Often times multiple people need access to the same forms.
Either to complete a form or to work with it as part of a
workflow process. For example, one person may initiate
a form and its data, and another may complete the remaining data on
the form.
MultiForm can support as many users as need be.
Technical Granularity
MultiForm, as the need arises, can be run in highly technical
multi-user environments. MultiForm's parts can be split and run
over as many as 6 different servers/locations, as technical needs may dictate.
As an example, customers are running MultiForm in server farm load balancing situations. In these particular situations, the main program/application servers are refreshed every day to make sure there is a clean app environment — which means MultiForm cannot store any changing information on the application server or in the application server registry. Yet when the servers are refreshed to their pristine state, MultiForm operates just as before — MultiForm is served from any server (as the load may dictate) yet all program settings, program data, user settings and user data are all as before.
Users of MultiForm in this situation are not aware of any impact the underlying technical needs of this organization imposed. MultiForm knows where to properly store Program, Form, Data, and User information and settings.
A Very Thin Client
MultiForm's client is a very thin client. In fact, no install of any software is necessary on the client machine. All that's necessary is to setup a shortcut on the client machine, which points to the server.
Individual User Settings
MultiForm separately stores each user's Word Lists, Printer, Output, Email, and General Settings. Each user has their own customized version of MultiForm.
Auto Population of Word Lists
In a Multi-User Installation, a Master Word/Pick/Answer List can be setup which will then auto-populate to all new users. The benefit to the new user is that they have a base of prepopulated Answer Lists, yet they can then customize their own lists from there.
Auto Update/Repopulation of Output/Email Delivery Settings
MultiForm has the ability to output a form in many different formats.
The Output can be to disk for later use or direct to email.
Different clients may want to be sent different formats.
MultiForm can save Delivery Parameters that can be
recalled and sent at the touch of a button.
For example, a particular client wants PDF reports mailed
to a particular address. MultiForm can save all necessary
parameters like the PDF option and the particular person's
email address, and store it as a Delivery Option for One
Touch Emailing. Select
that Option, and click OK to send that report on its way.
While each user can control and save individual settings, in a multi-user situation there may be some Delivery Options that need to change globally, say a corporate client's email address changes. In this case, changes can be made to the "Master" Delivery Options file, and these changes will be "pushed" to all users, so they all have the corporate clients new delivery email address.
Multi-User Data File Storage Options
MultiForm has options to allow data files from all users to reside in a shared space OR alternately to store each user's data files separately.
In some cases, especially where multiple people might work on the same report, having data files accessible in one place can be the useful option.
In other instance, if each user needs to keep their files and reports separate and out of sight of other users, MultiForm will do this, and will not allow others from within MultiForm to see anyone elses forms. Improves security in those situations where needed.
