XML is a format that allows diverse databases and programs to more readily assimilate data. XML at its simplest is a name/value pair. That is, everything, read – everything, has a tag on it describing what it is.
In XML, a pencil would have a tag labelled "pencil" tied to the pencil with a string. Everything has a label.
This method of identification means the order of the items has less importance, yet data items are still easy to identify what and where something is. This is a big thing for getting data into databases.
While XML may not mean much to the person completing the form (as it is a behind the scenes thing), it may mean a great deal to the person receiving the form. And thus may also mean a great deal to you the person completing the form with its wonderful data.
Each MultiForm form is either XML enabled or XML capable.
Preparing an XML file is one of the possible output formats
available when Outputting a report to disk or Emailing a report via the internet.
And is a easy a checking the appropriate checkbox.
